Chris Davis
As a former software engineer, Chris has a deep understanding of both the complex technical details of his clients’ cases and the way in which their technology relates to the law. He likens litigation to the biggest, most complex, highest-stakes game there is—one at which he excels.Chris is a member of the Litigation Group in Merchant & Gould’s Minneapolis office. His practice focuses on patent litigation, video game law, and e-discovery. His software engineering background, particularly knowing details such as how files are stored in a computer and how to search and mine databases, has been incredibly valuable in cases involving electronic discovery.

As a software engineer, Chris programmed databases and server side applications. He spent the last five of those years working as a programmer and designer for the game development company Electronic Arts on massively multiplayer online games.

Chris enjoys playing video and board games, running, scuba diving, and reading fiction and popular physics nonfiction.
